Video Emerges Showing Joe Burrow’s Calf Injury During Bengals Practice
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was carted off with a calf injury on Thursday during training camp, coach Zac Taylor told reporters.
Video was released of the play that Burrow went down on and it appears that the quarterback was attempting to roll out to his right when he started limping from a non-contact injury. He sat on the ground, and some of his teammates came to check on him.
From there, medical staff ran onto the field to tend to him before he was eventually carted off the field.

Taylor told media after Thursday’s practice that Burrow had been dealing with calf soreness recently which is why he wore a sleeve over his right calf on Thursday, per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. Given that the play in question occurred near the end of practice, the Bengals are unsure of how severe the injury is.
Burrow, the No. 1 pick in 2020, is entering his fourth NFL season, and is expected to sign a contract extension sometime this offseason.
