Aaron Rodgers Out Remainder of Season With Torn Achilles, per Report

The Jets quarterback’s season is reportedly over before it ever really began.

A Tuesday MRI confirmed Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles vs. the Bills on Monday night, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. His season is over.

Rodgers’s tenure with New York couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start and now Zach Wilson will be the starter for the rest of the 2023 campaign. The 39-year-old played just four snaps before the catastrophic injury when he was sacked by Buffalo’s Leonard Floyd. The hit itself didn’t seem like much, but a pop can be seen in Rodgers’s left calf and the signal-caller proceeded to just sit on the ground before getting helped off the field as if he already knew of its severity.

Orr: The Jets Can Still Make the Playoffs Without Aaron Rodgers

Still, the Jets came away with the miraculous 22–16 victory via walk-off punt return in overtime. Wilson finished the game with 140 passing yards with one touchdown pass and one interception.

New York will continue to roll on without their four-time MVP and the next stop is in Arlington. The Cowboys will host the Jets on Sunday with kick off scheduled for 4:25 on CBS.
