Joe Burrow Confirms He Got Advice From Aaron Rodgers About Injured Calf

Aaron Rodgers was very impressed with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s performance on Monday night since he played while dealing with a calf injury.

Rodgers even reached out and texted Burrow to give him credit for playing on the injury since the four-time NFL MVP dealt with a calf injury before.

But, apparently their communication wasn’t just limited to Rodgers praising Burrow. The Bengals star turned the conversation around and asked the Jets quarterback for any advice he could give him because of his experience with similar injuries.

“He’s dealt with calf issues his whole career and wanted to use him as a resource and get his thoughts, what he might have done,” Burrow said on Wednesday. “He’s been through it, done that. And he was great about it.”

Burrow was hesitant to share any of the advice Rodgers gave him, though. Regardless, he sounded grateful for the Jets star to help him.

“[I’m] going to continue to use that as a resource,” Burrow said. “He’s a great guy. Whenever you have a guy like that that’s willing to help, you’re going to use it.”

Burrow suffered the calf injury back in July during training camp, but then re-aggravated it after the team’s Week 2 loss. Rodgers called the Bengals starter a “great competitor” for toughing it out and showing up for his team in Week 3.

As for Rodgers, he’s expected to miss the rest of the 2023 season after tearing his Achilles in Week 1.
