Brock Purdy Deserves ‘More Respect,’ 49ers Teammate Says After Win Over Cowboys

Brock Purdy’s hot streak as the 49ers’ starting quarterback continued on Sunday night as the team dominated in its 42–10 win over the Cowboys on prime time.

Despite improving to 10-0 as a starter in the regular season, the young QB still has his critics. A number of observers claim Purdy’s success is a product of coach Kyle Shanahan’s offensive system and the team’s star receivers.

But, 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk is trying to change that narrative, especially after Purdy’s performance on Sunday, in which he threw for 252 yards and four touchdown passes without an interception.

“He’s just so consistent, and he just continues to go out there and prove people wrong,” Juszczyk said after the game, per ESPN’s Nick Wagoner. “I’m happy that he’s able to go out here and have a four-touchdown game on national television because, not that it matters what people on the outside are saying about him, but he deserves more respect than what he gets, I think. I hope he gets a little bit of that from this.”

Purdy leads the NFL in passer rating (123.1). Additionally, the second-year quarterback and Texans rookie C.J. Stroud are the NFL’s only two starting quarterbacks who haven’t thrown an interception yet this season.
