Davante Adams’s Monday Night Misery Has NFL World Wishing for a Trade
After a miserable performance against the Lions on Monday Night Football, NFL fans have seen enough of the Raiders. Specifically, they’ve had enough of the team wasting a future Hall of Famer.
Davante Adams simply had enough toward the end of the fourth quarter on Monday and the star wide receiver was seen slamming his helmet into the ground before sitting on the bench and holding his head in his hands in complete defeat after the offense fell short of scoring yet again. His reaction went viral as did his postgame comments.
“I honestly . . . I don’t know what to say at this moment. I truly don’t,” Adams said after the 26–14 loss, per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. “I wish I had the words to say something that’s not gonna get blown up in the media or taken out of context.”
Adams finished the game with just one catch for 11 yards and Las Vegas fell to a disappointing 3–5 on the year. The Raiders’ inept offense wasting Adams’s generational talent led football fans to plead for a trade to get the six-time Pro Bowler to a different team where he’d be used better.
Here are some reactions from the football world ahead of the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline Tuesday:
