New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed the entirety of the 2023–24 NFL season after tearing his Achilles on the first possession of the regular season.

Now, as Rodgers continues to recover from the injury suffered last September, he has revealed an updated timeline regarding how long he hopes to continue playing.

Rodgers, who turned 40 in December, hopes to be on the Tom Brady track in regard to longevity.

“I got back on the practice field late in the season and couldn’t get to a top speed sprinting, but really been in a good place rehab-wise, from the start, and feeling really good,” Rodgers told Eddie Bravo of the Look Into It Podcast. “I’m hopeful I can play two or three or four more years, but you need to have some good fortune in there too.”

Rodgers originally said in December that he wanted to play for two more seasons, but this is the first time he has mentioned the potential of playing four more years.

The news is certainly welcomed to Jets fans, who had all postseason hopes dashed the moment that their new franchise quarterback popped his Achilles on Monday Night Football in Week 1.

If Rodgers can return to form, the Jets will certainly be seen as an annual contender in the AFC East for years to come.
