Joe Burrow On Bengals' Comeback Against Buccaneers: 'We Are Never Out Of It'

Cincinnati helped cement a historic weekend of NFL comebacks.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals found themselves in a 17-0 hole late in the first half against Tampa Bay, but Joe Burrow's team never flinched. They scored on their final drive of the second quarter and kept scoring—to the tune of 34 unanswered points.

Tampa added a garbage-time TD to end the run, but it was too late in a 34-23 Cincinnati win.

This is the first week in NFL history that three teams came back to win after trailing by at least 17 points. (Jacksonville, Minnesota).

"Yeah, we're never out of it," Burrow said after the game. "I know we've been in these situations before, and we always come back and make it a game, and today we were able to come back and really put them away there in the second half."

Burrow has led his team to a six-game winning streak during a stretch that many judged as the toughest part of the NFL's hardest second-half schedule.

"It's really been the same," Burrow said about the team's confidence compared to last season. "We felt really good about our coaches, our players, and our scheme really both years, and so when we get in these in these situations, we never panic. We know somebody's going to make a play to put us right back in it."

Now the Bengals are licking their injury wounds as a battle-hardened team vying for not only a playoff berth—but now the division title and top seed in the conference.
