The Athletic's Latest Mock Draft Has Bengals Selecting Alabama Cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry With 2024 First-Round Pick

Cincinnati could be in need of cornerback help this offseason.

CINCINNATI — The Athletic's Diante Lee released a 2024 NFL mock draft this week and has the Bengals adding to the secondary by taking Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry with the 18th pick.

"Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is still one of the best in the league, but his defense struggled this season to hide some of its weaknesses," Lee wrote. "There’s no replacing the kind of eraser Jessie Bates III was for the Bengals two years ago, but getting a legitimate lockdown corner would mitigate responsibilities for the entire back seven. McKinstry has height and speed, and he’s one of the most competitive players in this class at the catch point."

McKinstry is the consensus 12th-best player in the draft and the top cornerback overall. 

With Chidobe Awuzie potentially signing elsewhere this offseason, cornerback depth could once again be in question. It would be hard to argue with this type of value at Pick 18.
