The Athletic Ranks Bengals First Among Non-NFL Playoff Teams Most Likely to Make 2025 Postseason
CINCINNATI — The Bengals missed the 2024 playoffs but The Athletic's Mike Jones has them pegged as the most likely non-playoff team to make the field in 2025.
Cincinnati was a heavy preseason favorite to make the postseason but faced one of the hardest schedules in recent memory without a healthy Joe Burrow for much of the campaign.
"They’ll experience some changes, especially on offense, with wide receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd both set to become free agents," Jones wrote. "But the Bengals have a strong core, as their narrow miss of the playoffs despite Joe Burrow’s absence reflects. Burrow should bounce back, and with him should return Cincinnati’s hopes for contention."
Cincinnati is primed to get back into the postseason as it faces a last-place schedule of opponents and the return of Burrow. The quarterback noted last week that he's hoping to throw in OTA's following wrist surgery.
