Halftime Observations: Bengals Crushing Browns 24-0 in Season Finale
CINCINNATI — The Bengals have a 24-0 lead over the Browns at halftime.
Cincinnati scored on three-straight possessions to take command of the game and at one point in the second quarter had outgained Cleveland 214 yards to zero.
Cincinnati is one half away from improving to 9-8 on the season. Here are our halftime observations:
Joe Mixon Tops 1,000
Mixon passed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the fourth time in his career after a 44-yard run on Cincinnati's third drive of the game. Mixon ran for 80 yards and one touchdown in the first quarter. It was the 49th rushing touchdown of his career, which is second in team history. He passed Rudi Johnson (48) on the list and only trails Pete Johnson (64).
Young Guys
The Bengals are getting their young guys involved on offense. Charlie Jones has two receptions for 42 yards, including a 35-yard catch up the seam.
Andrei Iosivas had a nice back shoulder catch in the red zone on third down and a touchdown. He has three catches for 23 yards. Jordan Battle had his first career interception on the opening drive of the game.
History in the Making
Assuming the Bengals beat the Browns (they will), they will improve to 9-8 on the season. That would make the AFC North the first division to have every team finish with above a .500 record since 1935.
