Report: Run on Quarterbacks Expected to Happen at End of First Round in 2022 NFL Draft
CINCINNATI — There aren't many teams looking to move up early in round one of the 2022 NFL Draft, but the Bengals could benefit from a potential quarterback run expected to take place at the end of the round.
General managers across the league believe multiple quarterbacks could get taken in the back end of the first round according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
"Late in round one several of the general managers I've spoken to in the past few days believe we could get a run on some of those other quarterbacks, whether it's Desmond Ridder, Sam Howell, maybe even Matt Corral," Pelissero said. "There's a couple of factors here, for one: there's a bunch of teams at the top of the second round who all need a quarterback."
The other major factor is the fifth year option that a team would have if they move up to take a quarterback in the first round.
The Bengals could certainly benefit from this, especially if a team like the Falcons or Seahawks wants to move ahead of the Lions to take a quarterback.
Cincinnati has the 31st overall selection, but there's certainly a chance they trade down on draft night.
