Brian Callahan Shares Thoughts on Ja'Marr Chase's Drops

The Bengals offensive coordinator answered a key question about Cincinnati's most dynamic weapon.

CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase leads the AFC in receiving yards (1,035) and has 10 touchdowns this season.

The 21-year-old is also tied for the NFL lead with nine drops according to Pro Football Focus. Tyreek Hill and Deebo Samuel have also dropped nine passes this season.

Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan isn't worried about Chase.

"The production far outweighs the drops," Callahan told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. "He been phenomenal. He's everything you could have hoped for. He's been the catalyst for our offense. He's been a great complement to Tee, Tyler C.J. (Uzomah), Joe Mixon. All these guys have helped our offense in the run game and the pass game. It's all part of it. To have that dynamic ability at receiver, to me, is how you put together a really good offense."

The Bengals are banking on Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd to have a productive last month of the season in their quest for the playoffs.

That mission starts on Sunday against the Broncos in Denver. Kickoff is at 4:05 p.m. ET.
