Should Bengals Consider Trading for D'Andre Swift?

Detroit took Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick on Thursday night.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Lions shocked the football world when they picked Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

It sounds like the selection could lead to veteran running back D'Andre Swift being traded.

The former second round pick is entering the last year of his rookie contract. He's a quality pass catching back, hauling in at least 46 receptions in each of the past three seasons. He's averages 4.6 yards-per-carry and 7.7 yards-per-reception.

Swift is a good player and would be a good fit in the Bengals' offense. What would it take to get him?

Detroit has received calls about a potential deal according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler

The Bengals have four picks on day 3 of the draft: No. 131, No. 163, No. 206 and No. 246.

If they don't land a running back on Friday, there's certainly a chance they look at the players remaining and at least have a conversation about the possibility of trading for Swift.

He's only 24-years-old, specializes in catching passes and would fit well in their offense. His $2.7 million cap hit is a factor and a trade is unlikely, but if the Bengals could land Swift for their fifth (163) or sixth (206) round pick, it may be worth considering.
