Analyst Predicts All 272 Regular Season Games, Has Bengals Finishing Last in AFC North
CINCINNATI — The Bengals are hoping to make a big leap this season after adding Ja'Marr Chase, Riley Reiff, Trey Hendrickson and other talented players to their roster over the past few months.
Despite the moves, not everyone is buying stock in the team.
Sports Illustrated's Conor Orr gave a prediction for every NFL game this season. He has the Bengals finishing last in the AFC North for a fourth consecutive year.
Orr predicts Cincinnati will finish 3-14, which is worse than the 4-11-1 mark they posted in 2020.
"It is unclear at this point how good the Bengals can be, but in looking at their schedule, it’s difficult to find wins," Orr wrote. "Joe Burrow is great but is coming off a very serious knee injury and could take a season to bounce back. Outside of an early stretch where Cincinnati gets the Bears, Jaguars and Lions all within six weeks, they are mostly overmatched from a personnel standpoint each week. Am I a little biased by the offensive struggles in camp? Perhaps. Am I jaded by the Bengals’ taking a wide receiver over an offensive tackle? Maybe. But it’s difficult for me to subscribe to the Bengals rising narrative given the evidence at hand right now, just as it’s difficult to envision some large pockets on the schedule where they can find some room to grow."
Orr has the Bengals beating the Lions, Raiders and Steelers. He believes the Browns will win the division with a 12-5 record. He has the Ravens finishing 11-6 and the Steelers posting a 9-8 mark.
