Bengals Give Joe Burrow Another Weapon, Take Charlie Jones in Fourth Round of 2023 NFL Draft
CINCINNATI — The Bengals added three defensive players on the first two days of the draft, but quickly addressed offense with the 131st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Saturday when they took Purdue wide receiver Charlie Jones.
The 24-year-old had 110 receptions for 1,361 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
The Bengals expected him to be an instant contributor on special teams. He has experience returning kicks and punts.
"Ball skills is number one," wide receivers coach Troy Walters said. "You can throw it anywhere and he's going to go get it."
Jones ran a 4.43 40-yard dash at the combine and the offensive staff believes he can play in the slot and on the outside.
