Trenton Irwin Joins Bengals' 53-Man Roster Following Standout Performance Against Steelers

Irwin has been on the practice squad all season.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals signed wide receiver Trenton Irwin to the 53-man roster on Tuesday afternoon. They waived offensive tackle Isaiah Prince to make room for the veteran wide-out.

Irwin has been a game day elevation from the practice squad on three separate occasions this season. He couldn't be elevated again, which meant the Bengals had to find a way to get him on the roster.

The 26-year-old had three receptions for 42 yards and one touchdown in Cincinnati's 37-30 win over Pittsburgh.

The Bengals don't have an available roster spot, but they do have an opening on their practice squad.

They waived Mike Thomas and Prince on back-to-back days. It'll be interesting to see if they try to sign one or both veterans to the practice squad.
