CINCINNATI — Bengals running back Chris Evans suffered a right knee injury in Sunday's game against the Panthers and won't return.

Evans suffered the injury on the opening kickoff. He returned to the field for one play before being ruled out for the game.

Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine will handle the running back duties. Trent Taylor will likely return kicks with Evans out.

UPDATE: Evans will undergo an MRI on his right knee this week to determine the severity of the injury.
