Bengals Select Michigan Cornerback DJ Turner With 60th Pick in 2023 NFL Draft

Cincinnati continues to address defense after landing Myles Murphy in the first round.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals took Michigan cornerback DJ Turner with the 60th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He had 36 tackles, 11 passes defensed and one interception for the Wolverines last season. The 22-year-old was college teammates with safety Dax Hill, who the Bengals selected in the first round (31st overall) last season. 

"Turner’s limited length and play strength are amplified versus bigger targets, but he is smart, explosive and competitive and should continue to ascend in coverage," The Athletic's Dane Brugler wrote. "He doesn’t back down and shows the movement ability and toughness desired at nickel in the NFL."

He joins a secondary that includes Chidobe Awuzie, Mike Hilton, Cam Taylor-Britt, Dax Hill and Tycen Anderson.

The Bengals took Clemson defensive end Myles Murphy in the first round. Cincinnati continues to fortify their defense with young, talented players.
