CINCINNATI — The Bengals are certainly eyeing the top tight ends in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Cincinnati met with Michael Mayer, Dalton Kincaid and Darnell Washington at this week's NFL Combine in Indianapolis. All three players could be taken in the first round.

Mayer and Washington loved the idea of catching passes from Joe Burrow.

The Bengals also met with Iowa tight end Sam LaPorta. He's expected to be a day two pick.

Cincinnati will likely address the tight end position in the draft, especially with veterans Hayden Hurst and Drew Sample scheduled to become free agents later this month.

"There are some guys that are ready than have more experience doing blocking, doing the catching, depending on the style of offense they play in college," Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan said this week. "Probably some guys that are going to have some success early, but ideally you are looking for somebody that has the traits to be able to physically do the job, the height, weight and speed and athleticism for what tight ends have to do which is be big enough, strong enough and physical enough to block and still run, catch and be explosive in the passing game."

The Bengals have the 28th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
