Here's Why Jake Browning Will Be Back With Bengals Next Season

Browning will serve as Joe Burrow's back in 2024.

CINCINNATI — Jake Browning will be back with the Bengals next season, barring something unforeseen.

The 27-year-old led Cincinnati to a 4-3 record down the stretch with Joe Burrow out. He completed 70.4% of his passes for 1,936 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

"I feel like I’m one of the top 32 quarterbacks in the world, and I just so happen to be on a roster with a guy who’s proven that he’s a top five quarterback in the world," Browning said. "What that looks like going forward, I have no idea, nor do I have any control. So, I’m not going to think about it a ton."

Browning is right about not having any control. He is an exclusive rights free agent, which means the Bengals will likely keep him around next season for a free agent minimum contract: one-year, $915,000.

The Bengals have plenty of holes and question marks going into the offseason, but backup quarterback isn't one of them.
