Joe Burrow and the rest of the Bengals rookies will report to Paul Brown Stadium on Tuesday
CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow and the rest of the Bengals rookies will report to training camp on Tuesday, July 21.
Rookies on 30 of the 32 NFL teams will also report on Tuesday according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
First-year players on Kansas City and Houston are reporting to camp on Monday. They're scheduled to play each other in the first game of the season on Thursday Night Football.
The NFL continues to negotiate with the NFLPA about safety protocols for camp and the regular season.
Only 20 players are allowed in the facility at the same time. That will change once the NFLPA signs off on an infectious disease emergency response plan that each NFL team is required to have in place.
Players that report to camp this week will be tested for COVID-19 at least twice before they can workout together. The tests will be 24 hours apart according to Pelissero.
Bengals veteran players will report to camp on July 28. That will likely be the first time wide receiver A.J. Green and Burrow workout together.
"When Andy [Dalton] and I got drafted in 2011 we didn’t have OTAs," Green said on Friday. "We went straight into training camp like we’re doing now. Everything I’m hearing about Joe — he’s a smart guy. I feel like he can handle all the situations He’s played at the biggest level. For him, to just go out there and play his game and me being in the right spots at all time for him."
There's plenty of uncertainty surrounding the 2020 NFL season, but this is a step in the right direction.
