Report: Sam Hubbard 'Expected' To Miss Some Time With Calf Injury
CINCINNATI — An update has surfaced on Sam Hubbard's left calf injury.
According to Tom Pelissero, Hubbard "is expected" to miss a few weeks with the ailment that knocked him out of the Bengals' 34-23 win on Sunday.
"Sam Hubbard is expected to miss a few weeks because of the left calf injury he suffered Sunday, per source. The hope is Hubbard – who has started every game and has 6½ sacks this season – can make it back for the playoffs."
That's a big blow for the Bengals if he can't play against New England, Buffalo, or Baltimore.
Cincinnati is a near lock to make the playoffs, but they have bigger goals, but Hubbard would be a big help towards winning out and at least getting the No. 2 seed.
With Trey Hendrickson also on the mend with a wrist injury, Cincinnati is missing its best two pass rushers heading down the stretch. Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo will have to keep cooking up great game plans in the meantime.
