Zac Taylor Reacts to Ja'Marr Chase's Comments About Chiefs Secondary

Cincinnati is hoping to improve to 9-7 on the season. They play Kansas City on Sunday.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals know they have to win the final two games of the season if they're going to make the playoffs. That path starts on Sunday against the Chiefs.

Kansas City is a familiar opponent. The Bengals have played them four times over the past two seasons, including back-to-back AFC Championship Games.

The history between the two teams certainly played a part in Ja'Marr Chase's comments about the Chiefs' secondary.

"Nothing," Chase said when asked what stood out about their defensive backs. "They throw a little double-double at us to stop the two best players on the outside and that's all they do. It's not really like they got a Jalen Ramsey on their side, so not much.

"They could take it how they wanna. I don't care. I know what I see on paper and I know what I see in game. That's why they double everybody. Because they can't do it 1-on-1. The best player on they team is L'Jarius Sneed. Everybody knows that. That's why they double-double everything they see."

Zac Taylor was asked about Chase's comments on Friday.

"He’s a confident guy, but that’s not something I would say," Taylor said. "That’s one of the best defenses in the league."

The Bengals are 3-1 against the Chiefs over the past two years, but this is the first time Joe Burrow won't be under center. Instead, it'll be Jake Browning guiding the offense.

Taylor didn't make any declarations about Chase's status for Sunday's game other than saying "we'll see," but it looks like the 23-year-old will play after missing last week's game with a shoulder injury.

Chase has a career-high 93 catches for 1,156 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games this season.
