Bills Finalize 2023 Preseason Schedule: Game Dates, Times Revealed
Saturday's all right for fighting ... and Buffalo Bills preseason games, apparently.
Weekend matinee madness defines the Bills' preseason slate, which was revealed on the team website on Monday. A tentative preseason schedule emerged alongside last weekend's unveiling of the regular season slate, which places the Bills in Week 1's Monday night conclusion against the New York Jets.
Two 1 p.m. ET kickoffs sandwich a 6:30 start, with the Bills' lone exhibition home game opening things up on Aug. 12 against the Indianapolis Colts at Highmark Stadium. A night game one week later awaits in Pittsburgh against the Steelers before the trio wraps up against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Aug. 26.
With the Bills getting only one preseason home game (by virtue of AFC teams getting an extra chance to host on the 17-game regular season slate), Highmark Stadium is going all-out by making the Colts' visit "Kids Day" sponsored by Fisher-Price (based in East Aurora). Stadium gates will open early as kids and families will be treated to "a Power Wheels track, giant inflatables, a real firetruck, games & more." The action should be equally exciting on the field, as Indianapolis' new franchise quarterback, 2023 first-round pick Anthony Richardson, will make his unofficial debut in a Colts uniform.
The Bills are well-versed in their summer foes. This will mark the third time in the last six preseasons that they've faced the Bears and the fourth time in the last five that they've been slated for a matchup with the Colts (including a canceled contest in 2020).
Indianapolis' visit also has a tad bit more meaning added to it considering the teams' swap of running backs last November (Buffalo getting Nyheim Hines in exchange for Zack Moss) and multi-faceted treat Isaiah McKenzie signing with the Colts in March.
