Bills Draft Bijan Robinson ... Again - Mel Kiper's Updated ESPN Mock

The Buffalo Bills have once again selected Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson in a mock draft.

The Buffalo Bills have been connected to Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson in mock drafts so often this offseason, that Bills coach Sean McDermott was even asked about it when speaking to the media at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Of course, in typical McDermott fashion, he didn't dive too deep on the topic, as the media walked away failing to get him to hint at Buffalo's potential plans surrounding the superstar ball-carrier.

"I've seen him for sure on television," McDermott said. "He looks like a really good player."

So maybe McDermott hasn't seen all the Bijan-Bills hype this offseason. But that won't stop it from continuing. In yet another major mock draft, this time from ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr., the Bills are once again projected to select Robinson with the No. 27 overall pick.

Here's what Kiper had to say about the riskiness of the pick, but why it also makes sense:

Robinson is a top-10 prospect just based on talent in this draft, but it was tough finding a perfect fit for him. Teams (rightly) aren't taking running backs in the top 10 anymore, choosing instead to find values in the middle and late rounds. While I agree with that strategy, there comes a point in Round 1 in which it does make sense to snag a running back as talented as Robinson, and that's here. The Bills could get a complete back -- Robinson is stellar between the tackles and has great hands as a pass-catcher -- and a player who can make quarterback Josh Allen's life easier. This is a way for the Buffalo offense to take the next step.

A reoccurring theme throughout mock season continues, as the Bills are projected to select Robinson once again in this scenario. The pairing has been one that makes sense from all angles. The Bills haven't had a 1,000-yard rusher since LeSean McCoy in 2017, but have the offense capable of producing one.

Luckily, Robinson's talents would make him the guy in most middling backfields, which includes Buffalo's. His power, speed, quickness and pass-catching ability could ignite the Bills offense even further while taking the load off Josh Allen's shoulders.

Considering how often Robinson is projected to Buffalo in major mock drafts, it'd almost be a surprise at this point if the Bills didn't land him.

The winner of the 2022 Doak Walker Award this past season, which annually honors the nation's best running back, Robinson led the Big 12 in carries (258), rushing yards (1,580) and rushing touchdowns (18) during the regular season. He also led the nation with 1,894 total scrimmages yards (1,580 rushing, 314 receiving) and was second in total touchdowns (20).
