Bills QB Josh Allen or Cowboys' Dak Prescott? Cole Beasley Weighs In
Being in the middle of a social media "controversy" is nothing new for former Buffalo Bills receiver Cole Beasley (go back to 2020 to find out why), although the latest internet drama isn't related to COVID or the vaccine.
Instead, this time it's about the leadership of Bills quarterback Josh Allen or the perceived lack thereof.
After quote tweeting a report about Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was commended for his leadership skills and even compared to Dallas Cowboys signal-caller Dak Prescott by Texans receiver Noah Brown, Beasley shared his thoughts and said Prescott was "by far the best leader" he'd ever played with.
"Dak is by far the best leader I’ve played with," Beasley wrote. "Dak’s huddle presence is something that can’t be taught. That says a lot if this is true."
A harmless tweet, right? Just a former player complimenting the quarterback he played with for three seasons.
But members of the Bills Mafia took it as a diss to Allen.
This perceived overlooking of the Bills quarterback drew comments from fans unhappy with Beasley's statement. One supposed Bills fan tweeted, “Allen is the best QB you ever played with but you find ways to big up every other QB you played with or in the league.”
Following the outburst from those in Bills Mafia, Beasley did respond to one person's statement who said, "Josh Allen can be a great leader while Dak can be the best leader that Cole has played with. Both things can be true, people."
It was the rational answer, which Beasley quote tweeted as well.
"Josh is the most physically gifted by far," Beasley wrote. "Everybody is different and everybody has their thing.
Being a great leader is Prescott's "thing," as Beasley would say, while Allen's is being physically gifted. Would Bills Mafia want to trade one thing for the other? Likely not, as Allen's talent and leadership have been enough to see Buffalo on the doorstep of making the Super Bowl, while Prescott hasn't even made it past the NFC Divisional Round yet.
Luckily for the Bills fans who may not be satisfied with Beasley's answer to questions about Allen's leadership, Buffalo will host the Cowboys in Week 15 on Sunday, Dec. 17.
