NFL Honoring Bills' Damar Hamlin with CPR Awareness for Super Bowl Week

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is seeing his impact take even greater strides ahead of Super Bowl LVII.

As the NFL prepares for the Philadelphia Eagles to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIl, the league is taking the opportunity to raise awareness for CPR education in wake of the on-field health scare from Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

The NFL announced Friday that it will partner with the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross to provide free CPR education in Arizona throughout Super Bowl week.

Anyone attending the Super Bowl in Glendale and Phoenix can also visit the Phoenix Convention Center to receive "hands-only" CPR training and important info on the type of procedures that are performed.

"We embrace our responsibility to ensure that (CPR) knowledge is in as many hands as possible for the greatest positive impact," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.

Hamlin, who suffered from cardiac arrest in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2, was given CPR on the field and ultimately had his life saved because of it. As he's recovered tremendously, Hamlin has continued to put all the media attention to good use, as he's raised money for his charity while also recently partnering with the American Heart Association to create "Damar Hamlin's Three For Heart CPR Challenge."

As the sports world prepares to watch what should be a thrilling Super Bowl, the much-deserved attention will also be focused on the important health and safety awareness that Hamlin's incident unintentionally brought to light.

The Eagles and Chiefs will kickoff on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
