Bills WATCH: Damar Hamlin Snags 'Big Play' Pick at Training Camp
It didn't take long for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin to get that "big play" at training camp that he's been searching for.
After meeting with the media on Monday and voicing his desire to have a few more balls thrown his way on defense, he quickly got his wish on Tuesday at practice. Hamlin intercepted a low-thrown pass from quarterback Matt Barkley before getting up and running to the opposite sideline to advance field position.
Much to the visible delight of cornerbacks Dane Jackson and Tre'Davious White, Hamlin had made his best play since his return to the field.
Take a look:
"I mean balls not coming my way that makes you think you're doing your job right," he said Monday. "But I would love some more opportunities to make a big play and turn practice up a little bit."
As a defensive back, it's hard to complain about not getting passes thrown in your direction from the opposing quarterback. But regardless, Hamlin certainly seemed to "turn up" practice based on the energetic excitement from his teammates.
Still, the best highlight of them all is the fact that Hamlin is back on the field in full pads. The Bills have off on Wednesday, but he'll look to come back afterwards and help the defense create more takeaways as scrimmages at training camp practices continue.
