BREAKING: Buffalo Bills DL DaQuan Jones Likely Out For Season With Injury
As the Buffalo Bills are learning in real time, when it rains, it pours.
If losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday wasn't bad enough, the Bills have been ravaged by injuries from this game. The first major blow was losing star linebacker Matt Milano, who is likely out for the season with a brutal-looking knee injury. To add onto the pile, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones is now out indefinitely and will likely miss the rest of the season as well with a torn pec, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Jones will be a major loss for the Bills as he was on track for the best season of his decade-long career. Through five games, he had five quarterback hits and 2.5 sacks, putting him on pace to shatter his career-highs of 11 quarterback hits and 3.5 sacks. He was a big reason why the Bills lead the league with 21 sacks, even without having star edge-rusher Von Miller for the first four games.
Jones, 31, was a 2014 fourth-round pick by Tennessee Titans in 2014. He spent seven years with the Titans and then one with the Carolina Panthers before signing a two-year deal with the Bills in 2022. In his 10-year career, Jones has 183 solo tackles, 48 QB hits and 14.5 sacks.
With the loss of Jones, the Bills will now lean on fellow starter Ed Oliver, as well as reserves like Jordan Phillips and Tim Settle.
With their defense in tatters, the Bills now prepare to host the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football this week.
