Bills BREAKING: RB Devin Singletary Signing with Texans - Details

The Buffalo Bills are officially saying goodbye to another familiar face after running back Devin Singletary agreed to sign with the Houston Texans on Monday.
In this story:

Well that was quick.

Buffalo Bills free agent running back Devin Singletary took a big step in the process of finding a new team on Monday, as he made a free agency visit with the Houston Texans.

The two sides seemed to have found a connection on that first handshake.

Per reports from NFL Network, the Texans are signing Singletary. ESPN reported that the contract is a one-year deal worth up to $3.75 million.

The Bills had yet to make any reported attempt at trying to bring Singletary back, as his exit from Buffalo had seemed inevitable. With the Bills waiting too long, Singletary was snatched up by a team aware of his underrated abilities.

The Texans, despite being carried by workhorse rookie running back Dameon Pierce this past season, could now look to have Singletary serve as a mentor for Pierce while also taking some of the work off his shoulders. Additionally, Singletary would bring veteran leadership to an offense that will almost certainly be led by a rookie quarterback next season.

Though the Bills haven't had a 1,000-yard rusher since LeSean McCoy in 2017, Singletary found consistency and production in his role on a pass-happy and Josh Allen-dominant offense.

In four seasons with the Bills, he totaled 672 carries for 3,151 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns while adding 145 catches for 971 yards and four more scores.
