Bills Ex Devin Singletary Signs With Giants, Reunites With Brian Daboll
Former Buffalo Bills running back Devin Singletary is on the move again, and joining some familiar faces in the process.
Singletary is reportedly signing a three-year deal, $16.5 million that can go up to $19.5 million with the New York Giants, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This marks Singletary's third team in the past three years.
Singletary, 26, was a third-round pick by the Bills in the 2019 NFL Draft. Over his four seasons in Buffalo, the Florida Atlantic product racked up 3,151 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 4.7 yards per carry. He also led the team in rushing in each of those four seasons.
Eventually, the rise of James Cook, whom the Bills drafted in 2022, wound up leading to Singletary's departure. It didn't take long for him to find a new home, though.
Last offseason, Singletary signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, and he made the most of his new opportunity. He rushed for 898 yards and four touchdowns, and even unseated Dameon Pierce, who ran for 939 yards as a rookie in 2022, as the team's top running back.
Now, Singletary heads to another blue, red and white team in the Giants. In doing so, he reunites with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen, who were both with the Bills when Singletary was drafted until leaving for New York in 2022. Daboll was the team's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, while Schoen served as the assistant general manager.
Bills Re-Signing A.J. Epenesa as Leonard Floyd Departs
Singletary is a quality a running back, but he now has the unenviable task of replacing Saquon Barkley, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
Regardless of other circumstances, the Giants add yet another former Bill to their ranks by bringing in Singletary.
