Seeing Double: Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen Praises Jacksonville Jaguars' Josh Allen: 'He Scares Me!'

Sunday's London game between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars marks the latest edition of the Josh Allen Bowl.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen's greatest foe during Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London may be himself.

OK, not actually himself, but rather the Jaguars linebacker of the same name. Sunday's game marks just the second time the two Josh Allens have faced each other, and for the Bills quarterback, his defensive counterpart will be the player who demands the most attention.

“He scares me. He got me last time we played,” the Bills’ Allen said, per Pro Football Talk. “He’s coming off a really good week, too. He’s a baller. He’s still considered kind of a young guy in this league, but he’s playing really good football right now. Their defensive group right now is playing at a high level. They work together very well. So we’re going to have our hands full.”

Jacksonville's Allen has had a great start to the season, currently tied for the league lead with six sacks. He's coming off a three-sack performance in the Jaguars' 23-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4, which also took place in London.

Beyond sharing a name, the two Allens also share the same draft position. Buffalo's Allen was the No. 7 overall pick in 2018, and one year later, Jacksonville used the same selection to select their linebacker.

The only previous edition of the "Josh Allen Bowl" came in Jacksonville in 2021. The Jaguars' Allen came out on top, recording eight tackles and a sack to help Jacksonville pull off a 9-6 upset win. Meanwhile, the Bills' Allen had one of his worst games of that season as he completed 31 of 47 passes for 264 yards and two interceptions while being sacked four times.

The Bills will look for a better outcome when they face the Jaguars once again on Sunday morning.
