Just Joshin'! Bills' Josh Allen Plays Along in 'Chris Pratt' Mix-Up
The Warden of West New York was confused for a Guardian of the Galaxy.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen already faces a tall task in facing Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots on a yearly basis (not to mention occasional meetings with Bengals, Jaguars, Ravens, and more). But it could be worse: his apparent celebrity doppelgänger has had run-ins with velociraptors, Lego monsters, Mad Titans, and, as of Wednesday, legendary video game antagonists.
"@BillsMafiaBabes," a female-centered social media account for Bills fans, recently highlighted a story where Allen was mistaken for actor Chris Pratt, star of numerous blockbuster films such as "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" (which opened this week) and the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." A user explained that their mother was "stuck at an airport gate" when she asked "this stranger she met" for a photo.
The user's mother happily informed them of her meeting with Pratt but was informed of the superhero's true identity. A passerby confirmed the mix-up, but she was still not convinced.
"Someone near them says 'No, you're not Christ Pratt, you're Josh Allen,' and pulls up a picture of Josh Allen to them both, to which (Allen) just looks on and says 'I do kind of look like him,'" the user said. "My mom says to him 'Maybe a little, but he's got a square head, and you don't."
The user was pleased to report that, like so many opposing defensive adjustments on Sundays, Allen took the unexpected surprises in stride.
Bills fans eager for a bit of a de facto Allen fix can catch Pratt in live-action upon "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's" release on May 5, which will mark Pratt's sixth theatrical appearance in the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe.
