Bills WATCH: Josh Allen, Others Go 'Undercover' in Local Auto Ad
Even if their skills as spies and actors rivaled the greats, Buffalo Bills fans would perhaps be more than happy if Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins, Dawson Knox, and Steve Tasker stuck to their day jobs.
Bills stars from the past and present occupied themselves during a rare quiet period on the NFL calendar by appearing in a television advertisement for the West Herr Auto Group, which boasts numerous locations throughout the Western New York area.
Take a look:
The group's collaborations with West Herr date back to 2019, but the latest commercial, released on Saturday, is one of the most elaborate efforts yet: Allen, clad in a bucket hat and glasses that do little to hide his recognizable, Madden cover-gracing face despite insisting he's a "random person" seeks assistance in buying a car. The floor manager, portrayed by Dawkins, calls a salesman over, the latter revealed to be Knox.
Knox's arrival causes the Buffalo trio to recognize each other and each reveals that they're on an undercover assignment to check on West Herr's service. Knox perhaps seals the deal when he declares that he's been at the dealership for three weeks ... though somehow hasn't noticed one of his longest-tenured teammates in Dawkins has been one of his co-workers.
The commercial ends with the dealership's "manager" arriving to assist ... but Allen and Knox instantly recognize him as Tasker, the Bills' five-time All-Pro specialist.
It's certainly a different kind of Sunday drive for these Bills, but it's a gentle, if not humorous, reminder that football season is coming. The Bills unofficially kick off on Aug. 12 when they open the preseason at Highmark Stadium against the Indianapolis Colts.
