Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen Provides Update on 'Funky' Injury
As Halloween approaches, the Buffalo Bills survived through two scares in Thursday night's 24-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Highmark Stadium.
The Bucs nearly won the game on a final Hail Mary attempt that landed harmlessly next to receiver Chris Godwin, who was late in getting his eyes on the ball. But before that, all of Bills Mafia had a few nervous moments after quarterback Josh Allen went into the blue medical tent on the sideline in the first half for what he later revealed was due to an injury on his throwing shoulder.
Though backup quarterback Kyle Allen started getting loose on the sideline, Josh didn't miss a snap and put together a complete game. However, he admitted afterwards that the injury will be something to monitor.
"Took a little fall on it and just felt a little funky about it," Allen said of his shoulder. "But you know, just trying to keep it warm and keep it loose. I'll be sore for a couple days, but we'll be fine."
Despite the ailment, Allen finished the game 31 of 40 passing for 324 yards, two touchdowns and one pick. He also added 14 carries for 67 yards and another touchdown.
"Anytime you feel something in your throwing shoulder as a quarterback, alarms are going off in your head," Allen said. "But something that again, we'll have to monitor and continue going forward with and making sure we're taking care of it."
Luckily for Allen and the Bills, he'll have 10 days of rest before Buffalo visits the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Nov. 5. It will mark the first game back to Paycor Stadium for the Bills since Damar Hamlin's cardiac arrest against Cincinnati in Week 17 of last season.
