Best Offense in NFL: Josh Allen's Bills vs. Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs?
With free agency and the NFL Draft both things of the past, the Buffalo Bills' roster is largely set entering offseason workouts.
The Bills, led by quarterback Josh Allen and receiver Stefon Diggs, hold one of the league's most potent offensive attacks, ranking second in both yards (398) and points (28) per game last season. This trailed only signal-caller Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in both categories.
But have Allen's Bills done enough this spring to unseat Mahomes' Chiefs? Bleacher Report ranked each offense in the NFL and reached the conclusion that Buffalo, once again, is just behind Kansas City.
"With Josh Allen at the helm, the Bills have one of the best offenses in the league, but they've been just short of a run to the Super Bowl," BR writes. "Despite finishing second in EPA per play and scoring, the Bills have made a definite shift this offseason when you look at their personnel moves."
BR added that, while explosive a year ago, the Bills "relied too heavily" on Allen and Diggs - but with first-round tight end Dalton Kincaid and free agent running backs Damien Harris and Latavius Murray in the fold, there's much more size, physicality and versatility present.
Buffalo certainly has depth, with receivers Gabe Davis, Trent Sherfield, Khalil Shakir and Deonte Harty, running backs James Cook and Nyheim Hines and tight end Dawson Knox also in the picture ... but still, not enough to unseat the Chiefs.
Despite losing receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and MeCole Hardman, offensive tackles Orlando Brown and Andrew Wylie and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Kansas City remains talented around Mahomes, with tight end Travis Kelce back for another season alongside wideouts Marquez Valdez-Scantling, Kadarius Toney and second-round pick Rashee Rice.
As such, per Bleacher Report, the Chiefs stay as "the undisputed king of offense until proved otherwise" - which the Bills will try to accomplish this fall.
