Bills Ex Leslie Frazier To Interview For Dolphins' Defensive Coordinator Job
After a year from the game, former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier seems keen on getting back into coaching come next season.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Frazier will interview for the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator job.
Frazier, 64, spent six seasons as the Bills' defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2022, while also adding assistant head coach to his title in 2020. He then took a leave of absence for the 2023 season, spending time as an analyst at NFL Network in that time.
Frazier said at the time he intended to return to coaching in 2024, even if it wasn't necessarily with the Bills.
Buffalo's defense morphed into a sturdy unit under Frazier's guidance, finishing in the top six in points allowed and yards allowed in three of his final four seasons with the team.
Outside of his time with the Bills, Frazier is best-known as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings from 2010 to 2013. He finished his time in Minnesota with a 21-32-1 record, but did lead the Vikings to the playoffs in 2012 thanks to an MVP year from running back Adrian Peterson.
Frazier interviewed for head-coaching jobs with the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers earlier this offseason, but with those positions filled, he appears to be shifting his focus back to defensive coordinator openings.
Bills BREAKING: Ken Dorsey Finds New Home
Meanwhile, the Dolphins are looking for a new coordinator after the firing of Vic Fangio earlier this month. The Dolphins' defense was inconsistent in its lone year under Fangio, finishing 22nd in points allowed.
If Frazier does get the job, the Bills will get the chance to face off against their old defensive coordinator twice a year.
