Bills Pair of New Offensive Signings Have Contract Details Revealed

The Buffalo Bills made two recent additions to their offense with the signings of receiver Marcell Ateman and offensive tackle Brandon Shell.

The Buffalo Bills have made a flurry of new roster additions over the past few weeks on both sides of the ball, headlined by the recent arrivals of Super Bowl-winners like linebacker Leonard Floyd and defensive end Shane Ray.

But the smaller signings that have flown a bit under the radar deserve some love, too. The Bills recently inked former Raiders receiver Marcell Ateman and former Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Brandon Shell to deals.

And now, details for both of their contracts have been revealed, per reports from KPRC2.

Ateman's contract - reportedly a one-year deal worth $940,000

Shell's contract - reportedly a one-year deal worth $1.165 million. Includes $150,000 signing bonus and playtime incentives (35 percent for $50K, 45 percent for $150K, 55 percent for $250K, 65 percent for $400K).

Ateman, 28, was a seventh-round pick by the then-Oakland Raiders in 2018. He played in 19 games across four seasons with the team, catching 20 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown during that span. He played in the XFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks this past season.

For Shell, this past season marked his only year in Miami, where he made 11 starts and appeared in 13 games.

Shell now joins the third AFC East team of his career after being a fifth-round pick by the New York Jets in 2016. He carved out four solid years for himself in New York, as Shell appeared in 49 games while making 40 starts on the o-line.

However, injuries started to take a toll on Shell. He ended up not re-signing with the Jets in the 2018 offseason before joining the Seattle Seahawks, where he overcame some of those injury issues to start all 21 games he played in a Seattle uniform.
