Buffalo Bills Facing Heavily-Depleted New York Giants Squad

Injuries have ravaged the New York Giants heading into Sunday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills.

Friday the 13th has sunk its teeth into the New York Giants heading into their primetime matchup against the Buffalo Bills

After missing practice throughout the week, Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced on Friday that quarterback Daniel Jones is out for Sunday. Jones suffered a neck injury in New York's 31-16 loss to the Miami Dolphins. He was sacked six times in the loss and has taken a beating throughout the season behind the worst offensive line in the NFL. The Giants' (1-4) offensive line has allowed 30 sacks this season, the most in the league.

With Jones out, New York will turn to a familiar face in Tyrod Taylor, who was the Bills' (3-2) starting quarterback from 2015 to 2017. He went 22-20 in that span, and in his final season with the Bills, he helped lead them to their first playoff appearance since 1995.

Jones' is far from the only impactful player that'll be out against Buffalo. Left tackle Andrew Thomas, offensive tackle Matt Peart, center John Michael Schmitz and outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari was also ruled out by Daboll.

Thomas, who is one of the best left tackles in football when healthy, has been out since Week 1 after straining his hamstring. Peart and Ojulari were also injured against the Dolphins. Schmitz, who New York took in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, suffered a shoulder injury on Oct. 2 in a tush push gone wrong against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Giants' best playmaker, running back Saquon Barkley, was limited in practice on Thursday and is questionable for Sunday. Barkley hasn't played since Week 2. Starting right tackle Evan Neal was also limited on Thursday with an ankle injury and is questionable against the Bills.

Tightd Darren Waller is also questionable with a groin injury.

The Bills host the Giants at Highmark Stadium at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday Night Football.
