Bills Combine: Buffalo Meets with Michigan State WR Among Others

The Buffalo Bills have already met with a handful of players as of Friday, many of who have rained praises on the organization and its talented players.

The Buffalo Bills have been making the rounds at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

The team has already met with a handful of players as of Friday - including rising Georgia pass-rusher Nolan Smith - and many have rained praises on the Bills and the opportunities that playing in Orchard Park would provide.

The provided names are not an official list of all players the Bills have met with.

Michigan State WR Jayden Reed

Reed told reporters Friday that he's met with the Bills and revealed that he's been a Stefon Diggs fan for quite some time.

"I love watching Stefon Diggs," Reed said, per Syracuse.com. "That's a receiver I've looked up to for a long time since he was at Maryland."

Reed had an impressive final two years at Michigan State. In 2021, he finished with 59 catches for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 17.4 yards per catch. He added five more receiving scores this past season, and could be one to watch in the draft for a Bills in need of receiver depth.

Notre Dame TE Michael Mayer

Mayer told reporters Friday that he and the Bills have met as well.

"They're a great organization," Mayer said, per Syracuse.com. "Obviously they got one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now in Josh Allen.

Mayer, who finished with an impressive nine receiving touchdowns this past season, admitted he's watched another touchdown-happy tight end in Dawson Knox.

"I've watched him for sure," Mayer said. "Great player. Big red-zone threat ... It would be cool to play with him, and I think it'd be cool to go against him, too."

Stanford WR Michael Wilson

Wilson said Friday that he's met with the Bills at the combine, a team he's now gotten familiar with after talking to them at the Senior Bowl as well.

Like many of the other receivers, he had tons to say about Diggs when asked about the Bills.

"That would be amazing," Wilson said, per Syracuse.com. "Anytime you get to play with NFL superstars at a high level ... Stefon Diggs I know he's one of the faces of what it means to be a complete NFL wide receiver."

Wilson played five seasons for the Cardinal, totaling 11 receiving scores. He only appeared in 14 games in his final three seasons combined.

USC DL Tuli Tuipulotu

The Bills have also met with USC Trojans defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu at the combine, he told reporters Wednesday.

Tuipulotu is coming off a monster 2022 campaign with the Trojans, which saw him channel his inner versatility to wreck havoc on opposing quarterbacks. He finished with 13.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and three passes defended.

Adding a pass-rusher that can defend in coverage as well would provide an excellent development piece for a team that could be losing Tremaine Edmunds in free agency. Tuipulotu plays on the line, but his ability to move to different spots makes this potential “filling in” for Edmunds more notable.
