'I Would Fit In Well!' Top WR Prospects Discuss Joining Bills

Several of the top receivers in the 2024 draft class spoke about potentially joining the Buffalo Bills come April.

The Buffalo Bills have no shortage of options for what they could do with the No. 28 overall pick in the NFL Draft, but receiver looks to be a position of serious need.

Granted, receiver has been a need for a while now, but it seems especially urgent this offseason. Gabe Davis, who has been the Bills' second option for a while now, is set to hit free agency, and all signs point to him not returning to Buffalo. Even Stefon Diggs, one of the best receivers in the league since coming to Buffalo in 2020, is coming off the worst stretch of his career as he didn't have a single 100-yard game after Week 6 last season.

As such, many expect the Bills to spend their first-round pick to add some sorely-needed help at the position. Fortunately for those who want to see that happen, the Bills did plenty of homework on some of the draft's top receivers at the NFL Scouting Combine last week.

Texas receiver Xavier Worthy, who ran a record-setting 4.21-second 40-yard dash on Saturday, believes he would fit in well if he were to join the Bills.

"Josh Allen is really good quarterback. Tough, runs hard and has a good deep ball He throws the ball well," Worthy told reporters, per the Bills' site. "I feel like I would fit into the Bills offense well. They kind of have that pro-style offense as well as [Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian], run first, pass second, so I feel like I would fit in well with that offense."

It wasn't just Worthy who spoke about his fit with the Bills, as several other receiver prospects did as well. Perhaps the most notable of that bunch is LSU's Brian Thomas Jr., a popular choice for the Bills in mock drafts who spoke about his conversation with offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

"We were just talking a lot of football, talking about his time at LSU," Thomas Jr. told reporters. "I think I would fit very well in the Bills offense. Joe Brady, just him being at LSU during that time, I liked his offense so I feel like I would fit pretty good in that offense."

Other receivers to meet with the Bills include Florida State's Keon Coleman, Oregon's Troy Franklin and South Carolina's Xavier Legette.

It remains to be seen if the Bills will truly select a receiver in the first round, but at the very least, they are certainly keeping tabs on many prominent ones.
