Buffalo Bills Not Overlooking Battered & Bruised Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers may have a 5-9 record and a plethora of injuries, but the Buffalo Bills know better than to overlook them.

After taking down two heavyweights, the Buffalo Bills now face a team that's essentially on death's door in the Los Angeles Chargers, who will host Buffalo on Saturday night at SoFi Stadium.

While still theoretically alive in the playoff race (and "theoretically" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here; there's a comically long list of ways they can be eliminated), the Chargers' season has been a disaster. L.A. is just 5-9 on the season and with Justin Herbert out for the rest of the year, fans are just waiting for it to be over. The latest embarrassment came in the form of a 63-21 decimation against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, which led to the firing of coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco.

As easy it would be for the Bills to overlook the Chargers given all their struggles, Buffalo knows better than to do that.

"I can't tell you what's going on in their minds right now with the coaching change and this and that, but I can tell you one thing: that they're gonna be ready to play come Saturday night," quarterback Josh Allen told reporters on Tuesday.

As much as Chargers fans may want their team to tank to improve their draft standing, a group of professional football players will not go down willingly.

"They're professionals and they take pride in their work and they take pride in showing up on their respective game days," Bills center Mitch Morse told reporters. "They have a good team and anyone else who's trying to talk you out of it is just living in a fantasy land."

Oddsmakers like the Bills' odds to win their third straight game, as they're currently 12-point favorites over their seemingly overmatched opponents. No matter what the odds say, though, a battle-tested squad like Buffalo knows that no win comes easy in the NFL.
