Buffalo Bills Fall To Philadelphia Eagles In Overtime Heartbreaker

Despite an early lead, the Buffalo Bills couldn't hold off the Philadelphia Eagles' late rally and lost 37-34 in overtime.

The Buffalo Bills have suffered plenty of heartbreakers recently, but Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles may have taken the cake.

Despite the Bills jumping out to a 10-point lead on two separate occasions, they were unable to fend off a late Eagles rally and lost 37-34 in overtime.

The first half was nearly perfect for the Bills, as they gained substantially more yards than the Eagles and forced two turnovers along the way. With Josh Allen and co. dealing and Philadelphia struggling to do anything through the air, Buffalo was in great position to walk out of Lincoln Financial Field with a shocking upset victory.

Then in the second half, the Eagles managed to wake up and find some rhythm offensively. A 14-point flurry in less than three minutes gave Philadelphia the lead, then after Buffalo responded with a touchdown, Jake Elliott nailed a 59-yard field goal to send the game to overtime. The Bills added a field goal of their own in overtime, Jalen Hurts ran it in from 12 yards out to give the Eagles the win.

Despite the loss, Allen was an offensive dynamo for the Bills on Sunday. The Buffalo star completed 29 of 51 passes for 339 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and he led the team with 81 yards and a score on nine carries.

Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis each had six catches and a touchdown apiece, with the former notching 105 yards and the latter 74.

On the other side, Hurts shook off a bad first half to finish the game completing 18 of 31 passes for 200 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also added 65 yards and the game-winning score on the ground.

D'Andre Swift led the Eagles in rushing with 14 carries for 80 yards, while DeVonta Smith had a great game through the air with seven receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Now at 6-6 heading into their (very late) bye week, the Bills will need a lot to go right in order to make the playoffs. That late push will have to start with a road matchup against the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 10.
