Bills QB Josh Allen's Touchdown Run Caused Expletive-Filled Reaction From Mitch Morse
Much like the Buffalo Bills fan base, offensive lineman Mitch Morse holds his breath when quarterback Josh Allen tucks the ball to run and opts not to slide.
One play epitomized how Allen causes Morse and Bills fans to hold their collective breath when he had a 52-yard touchdown run in the second quarter of the Bills' 31-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs at Highmark Stadium.
Morse went on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show and revealed the NSFW thoughts going through his head during Allen's dash toward the end zone.
"We're begging that (bleeper) to slide once in a while," Morse said. "You say that, and then he pops off that 52-yarder and you're screaming in the back like 'Get down dude. What are you (bleeping) doing?' And then he goes for it and you're yelling 'go go go.' It's a beautiful thing. Josh Allen is who he is because he's willing to lower his shoulder and he is a little sick in the head because he likes it."
On 3rd and 7 with 7:12 left in the first half, Allen kept it and after coming to a stop, he stayed on his feet and ran over a Steelers defender en route to the end zone, extending the Bills' lead to 21-0.
"Just tried to find a lane and got 15-20 yards downfield, and there was a lot of guys screaming slide," Allen said after the game. "Didn't slide and scored. It worked out that time."
'Thank God!' Bills QB Josh Allen Previews Chiefs Matchup
Allen did it all for the Bills, accounting for all four of the team's touchdowns and 277 of Buffalo's 368 yards on offense.
Buffalo will look to keep its playoff hopes alive against a familiar foe when it faces the Kansas City Chiefs for the third time in four years in the playoffs. This time, though, the Bills will be at home for the first time against Mahomes at Co. Kickoff at Highmark Stadium on Sunday is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.
