'WR1!': Bills WR Stefon Diggs Gives Gabe Davis Vote of Confidence
The Buffalo Bills have arguably the best quarterback-receiver duo in the NFL, with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs heading one of the league's most potent offenses.
Diggs was far and away Allen's favorite target last season as he recorded 1,429 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 108 receptions, all of which led the Bills. However, while Diggs is the guy for Allen, fellow receiver Gabe Davis had a productive season as well.
He came in behind second behind Diggs in all three categories with 836 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 48 receptions. Despite that, though, there has been clamoring for the Bills to use their first-round pick on a receiver to pair with Diggs as a second receiver.
Well, it is safe to say that Diggs himself is not fond of that mindset as he stood up for his teammate on Twitter when a question was raised about just what Davis' potential is with the Bills.
Expectations were high for Davis entering the 2022 season as he was fresh off a breakout game in a divisional round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, which saw him haul in eight receptions for 201 yards and four touchdowns for a whopping 25.1 yards per reception.
Whether those lofty expectations were met or not is a rather subjective debate, but he provided Allen and the Bills offense a good complement to pair with Diggs.
Whether or not the Bills draft a receiver with their first-round pick is still to be seen, but he has earned the full confidence of Diggs.
