Buffalo Bills' Stefon Diggs Pokes Fun at Josh Allen: 'Sleepyhead!'

Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs revealed his adjustment to Week 5's trip to England has been different than quarterback Josh Allen's.

As nearly one-touchdown favorites, the Buffalo Bills are expected to visit England in Week 5 and come away with a victory. Still, playing overseas is a factor that plays in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ favor.

The Jaguars won 23-7, in England, over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. They got to spend the ensuing week maintaining the body clock necessary for the contest. Buffalo, however, won’t have that same luxury.

The Bills arrived in London early Friday morning and practiced that afternoon. Some, like quarterback Josh Allen, are having a tougher time adjusting to the difference in time zone.

Star receiver Stefon Diggs spoke about the team’s travel and how he’s been able to manage better than a handful of teammates.

“I’m not a huge sleeper, so I don’t get too much rest,” Diggs said. “I be up throughout the night. I don’t care when I play, where I play, I just go out there and try to go hoop."

For the Bills with more mortal sleep schedules, Sunday will be a little more of a challenge than a typical game day. Going against a talented Jaguars team doesn’t make life any easier. Jacksonville’s offense is yet to truly click, but with franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence and one of the league’s best trio of receivers, it may just be a matter of time.

Buffalo will be without star cornerback Tre’Davious White, who tore his Achilles against the Miami Dolphins. His absence is a blow to a defense that has played incredibly through four weeks and further adds to Sunday’s difficulty. Expect Jaguars receiver Calvin Ridley to be targeted early and often against a weakened Bills secondary.

At least, it seems, the offense should retain its potency.

“I’m fine, I’m ready to go, I can play right now if I had to,” Diggs said. “It’s no big deal to me. But Sleepyhead [Allen] does need to get his rest. He was tired this morning, so looking forward to him making a turn and getting some rest.”

Assuming Allen counts his sheep adequately, Week 5 has the potential to be a playoff preview between two of the conference’s top passers. Bills fans will have to ensure that their own sleep schedule is in order, too, with kickoff at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
