Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen Shakes Up QB Rankings: 'MVP Stuff!'
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen's season did not get off to a hot start but, he's firing up now.
The Bills cooled a hot Miami Dolphins team in Week 4, winning the division game 48-20 at Highmark Stadium and solidifying themselves as one of the top teams in the NFL. With its one-sided victory over the previously unbeaten Dolphins, Buffalo has outscored its last three opponents 123-33, with much thanks to Allen.
Allen is tied for the league lead in total touchdowns and coming off one of the most efficient Sundays of his career. Against Miami, he completed 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for an 11-yard score.
Allen's performance shook up Sports Illustrated's quarterback rankings, as he shot up to No. 2 on the list, behind only Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes. He also passed up fellow AFC East quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who lands at No. 3.
"In Week 1, Allen played perhaps the worst game of any elite quarterback this season, turning the ball over four times in a loss to the Jets. On Sunday, he authored the best," writes SI.
"On an afternoon where Buffalo couldn’t afford a turnover against Miami’s high-octane offense, Allen never flirted with disaster, instead rifling one throw after the next to downfield targets. In the victory, Allen was 7-of-9 on throws of at least 10 air yards, including all four of his aforementioned touchdown passes. That’s MVP stuff."
Brew that coffee, lads! Next up, the Bills fly across the pond to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday at at 9:30 a.m. ET in an exciting AFC Conference matchup.

THE FINAL WORD: Buffalo's Allen on Jacksonville's Josh Allen:
“He scares me. He got me last time we played,” the Bills’ Allen said. “He’s coming off a really good week, too. He’s a baller... Their defensive group right now is playing at a high level. They work together very well. So we’re going to have our hands full.”
