Bills WR Stefon Diggs Reveals Retirement Plans
The Buffalo Bills have had to deal with drama surrounding Stefon Diggs since last season. It's understandable to imagine that the playoff shortcomings are frustrating, but there's no room for tearing down any chemistry over it.
The Diggs drama ramped up during OTAs, as questions about his attendance and his playoff outburst following the team's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals came around.
That drama, though, seems to be a thing of the past now. Coach Sean McDermott explained that things are well in the locker room.
"We're in a good spot. Stef is ready to practice. He is in the locker room right now," McDermott said to start training camp.
And as for Diggs? He sees himself staying in Buffalo for the rest of his career. After signaling the all clear, he was asked about his past comments on retiring with the Bills, where he doubled down on his initial statement.
"Yeah, 100 percent," Diggs said of retiring in Buffalo. "From a standpoint from a head coach, I have the utmost respect for [McDermott]. He's a guy that you can always have an open-door policy with and have conversations with him as a man which is more important than football."
Diggs was also asked about the matter, since he was the focal point of the drama and conversation.
"Everyone has family issues, everyone has family problems in the house," Diggs said. "Obviously, the way we lost was just terrible in any regard. You don't want to lose any game. We've lost for a couple of years at this point."
"We've been trying to get over the hump, and obviously it caused a lot of frustration, but in all, as far as with that, I was here. We did have a conversation. It's all water under the bridge now."
The Bills have begun training camp as they continue and search for the path to get over the playoff hump. Both the AFC and the AFC East in particular are strong heading into the season, and the competition isn't getting any easier for the Bills. Having the team's star receiver bought in will obviously be huge for Buffalo's championship goals.
