WATCH: Bills' Stefon Diggs Does Backyard Battle vs. Cowboys Brother Trevon

It's a working weekend for Stefon Diggs, who didn't have to travel far to do some research for the Buffalo Bills' upcoming showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

It's never too early for families to start preparing for the holidays ... even if they have to work.

Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs and his brother Trevon, a defender for the Dallas Cowboys, gave an intriguing preview of what's to come this winter: an unofficial one-on-one matchup, staged in one sibling's backyard, was shared by the NFL's official social media accounts leading into the weekend, indirectly creating hype for Buffalo and Dallas' interconference showdown slated for December.

Of the two passes on display, Stefon manages to earn a catch on the first one (via a curl route) to unofficially add to last year's total of 108 receptions for 1,429 yards before Trevon knocks the second attempt down. Fans of Trevon's Cowboys and Stefon's Bills support their respective star in the comment section, many appreciative of any kind of football action in a rare lull on the NFL calendar.

This offseason showdown is an intriguing sign of what's to come this holiday season: Diggs and the Bills face off against the Cowboys in December, their matchup destined for the late afternoon slot of Week 15, such a placement being unveiled as part of last week's NFL schedule release. While it's an interconference battle, it'll no doubt stand as a valuable game for two teams that many view as capable of reaching Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

The Bills' coming battle with the Cowboys will also mark the first time that the Diggs brothers do battle against each other in the regular season, as Dallas and Buffalo have not faced off since November 2019 (one season before Trevon's Dallas debut). That game was a 26-15 decision in the Bills' favor and stood as the Cowboys' annual Thanksgiving contest.

Low-stakes matchups have defined the prior Diggs family civil wars: in addition to their backyard battles, the two have also faced off during the NFL's Pro Bowl festivities.
