Bills Trying to Trade Up in NFL Draft: Bijan Robinson vs. WRs?
The buzz that has the Buffalo Bills looking to trade up from their present perch at pick No. 27 in this NFL Draft persists, with the suggestion being that Buffalo is leaning toward offense.
Could Buffalo use a premium pick on an offensive lineman? That would fit.
More sexy, though, are the three names rumored to be of interest to the Bills as skill-position guys.
Could Buffalo use more fireworks in its Josh Allen-led offense? Maybe that would fit as well.
It is of course too early to pinpoint general manager Brandon Beane's strategy here, and even more "too early'' to pinpoint the desired player.
And one more cautionary note: Depending on how high the Bills might wish to move up in the first round, the likely cost to Buffalo could be pick No. 27 plus a future second- or third-round pick.
So they'd better really love their guy.
Among the O-linemen, Cyrus O’Torrence, Broderick Jones and Darnell Wright are good names to know.
And the skill-position guys?
Does the roster presence of second-year running back James Cook preclude the Bills from liking Texas running back Bijan Robinson?
Does the presence of Stefon Diggs and the endorsement of Gabe Davis as a "WR1'' playing WR2 preclude the tabbing of TCU receiver Quentin Johnston or USC receiver Jordan Addison? (See "I'd Pick Him No. 1! - Our Addison exclusive - here.)
If the idea is to "pick a player and not a position,'' then adding offensive weaponry is in play. The debate, in part: The Bills won't get Bijan (or, probably, anybody quite like him at 27. They might, however, still see a top-notch receiver fall into their laps without moving.
Let the games - if not the draft - begin ...
